recruiting trends

According to a study by LinkedIn, achieving hiring volume versus stringent budgets while maintaining the ‘quality of hire’ shall emerge as a major challenge for recruitment in 2016.  This challenge is what will drive the key recruiting trends this year. Let’s take a look at them.

Employer Branding:

The recruiters will need to position the organization like a product offering and “pull” the candidates towards the job. The focus would be on communicating the employer brand to candidates either during the interviews, via emails and social media or through a dedicated presentation. The recruiters will have to gear up to create a ‘wow’ factor among the candidates about the employer.

Date Driven Recruiting:

Technology in HR is going to play a crucial role in 2016 as well in the coming years. The recruiters, right from junior to senior levels will need to become data – savvy and dig in to big data and analytics to make fact based decisions. They will have to use their insight and experience to leverage data and sent benchmarks in job descriptions, compensation, hiring costs and so on.

Referrals Based Hiring:

Recruiters will have to devise attractive referral schemes that motivate existing employees to refer quality talent. This will not only bring the right talent on board, but also make the recruiting process faster. Further, it would be a great tool to source passive candidates or at least keep a talent pool ready.

Job Benefits Showcasing:

It’s not only a competitive or a hefty pay package that will lure a candidate or retain an employee. Today’s workforce is seeking facilities such as flexi-timings, tele-commuting, child-care, gyms, attractive perks, etc to hop onto a job.  So, it is the entire basket of job offers that recruiters would need to showcase to the candidates and employees.

Social Media Hiring:

Recruiters will tap social media more proactively to source candidates. There will be an emphasis on creating a social media presence and a buzz to reach out to both active and passive candidates. Now that you know these recruiting trends, it’s time to get into action and optimize your recruiting efforts!
