Best time to call a Candidate in a particular City!
Did you know that experience level and city of a Candidate is the key decider on what is the best time to call them?
Let me explain to you with this example. Let’s take 2 years experienced (programmer, sales, ops, content, etc skilled) Candidate in Mumbai. Most likely a 2 years experienced person is less likely to own a car, chances are that he/she may own a bike, but given the distances between home and workplaces in Mumbai being generally quite far (to add to that Mumbai is one long strip and not like Bangalore or Delhi, which is spread around). So 60 to 70% chance that these 2 years Junior, Mumbai Candidates will be traveling by local trains (which are the most efficient, low cost and predictable means of transport in Mumbai).
If it is train, then it is very likely that Mumbai 2 years experienced people would generally catch an early train to avoid peak hour rush and hence would be early office reachers. This also means that they are likely to leave office a bit early to catch a designated train; so probably reaching home earlier.
Hence it may be broadly ok to assume that its best to call or follow up a 2 years experienced person during Lunch time, Tea time or Pre-dinner time (Mumbai people generally have quick lunches, but don’t ever miss their Tea times) and since they are reaching a tad bit earlier, they are pretty okay to take calls till 8 pm.
Now, this may not necessarily remain true for 2-4 years, 4-8 years or 8-15+ years experienced people.
Similarly, based on the city demographic data, there would be different (sweet-spot timings) for Candidates in Bangalore, Delhi NCR, Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune, etc, etc.
