2 quick tips to Pitch Mid-Senior Level Candidates on Phone?
Our customer success team continuously tracks how users (recruiters) on Callify.ai record their custom messages for candidates. While they are pretty much in line with what is expected, we see a pattern that most fumble when it comes to targeting mid-to senior-level candidates. Most maintain the same line of pitching as they did for junior level candidates.
I’d like to share a potentially right way (scripted by professional salespeople) on how best to pitch to a mid-senior level candidate.
To highlight the pitch lets assume that we are calling a Sales Manager level person with 5-8 years of work experience. Here’s the pitch:
1. Opening Message:
Introduce yourself: “Hello John, I am Sweta Sharma calling from ABCD Ltd and I am responsible for all the Senior sales hiring within my company.
About the company: We are a leading Insurance firm ranked amongst the top 5 in India.
Check for Active or Passive Candidate: I came across your profile on one of the professional networks and liked the work you have been doing in your current and past organizations. I am not sure whether you would be looking for a change at this stage, but I wanted to share what I had to offer, which in my opinion significantly enhance your current position with fast track growth opportunity.”
Request: Can I take a quick few minutes?
2. Job Overview: (once the candidate says he/she is ok to listen to the offer)
Role Description: “In the role of Sales Manager, your core responsibility will be generating business revenues from our Health Insurance products for HNI segment. You will be managing a team of sales executives and you will be required to mentor, guide and drive their activities. You will be required to meet customers and strengthen the relationships built by your team.
Skills Required: This role requires you to have strong experience of segmenting new territories and doing funnel management of your sales team.
Location: You will report to the VP of Sales and work out of our Andheri office in Mumbai.
Do you have any questions for me at this stage? else may I ask you a few questions so that I can ensure you move ahead to the next stage; only if you are comfortable that is.”
Pitching is about giving the right kind of respect to the right kind of profile.
